Virtual Image Folders

When I see a patient who has had an MRI or CT at an outside institution, I often copy the scan to a network drive with VCD and review the study. I'll often keep the copy for future reference. At this point, I have about 350. My problem is that every time I open Virtual CD Control Center, I have to wait for it to load all the CD virtual images. When I want to insert one in the virtual drive, I have to scroll through 350. I have created a folder called Patients and subfolders A-F, G-L, etc. and dragged images from the root folder to these. Every time I open Control Center, they end up back in the root folder. I cannot figure out why this is happening. The Patients folder is blue and is at the same level as the default Audio and Video folders, which are yellow (if that means anything). Thanks very much for any help.

I am a novice with an xp home edition. Having surfed the net for the first time I d/loaded some sampler programmes. The next time I used the xp it said that this file was missing VCSEnv.dll. Ican't find any reference to it using search. Google led me to your sight. Is it yours? If so how do I delete it?

Version Compatibility

I have Virtual CD version 5 installed on a home computer with Windows XP. I am considering purchasing Virtual CD 10 and need to know if it is compatible. Will version 5 CD files be read with version 10? Will version 10 CD files be read with version 5? This is a second version for a new computer, I still intend to operate the older computer with version 5.

VCD10 on Win 7 64b running virtual XP session

I have VCD10 installed on Win 7 64bit. Because of some of the programs I want to run aren't supported under Win 7 64b, I downloaded and install the Win Virtual PC and a copy of XP to run in a Virtual PC. I had to install VCD10 a second time in the Virtual PC XP environment. All okay so far. The problem is that I can not mount a VCD that is stored in the Win 7 session in the Virtual PC XP. Let me try to explain it this way. 1.One PC, named Parent, running Win 7 64b, VCD 10 installed, VCDs created and stored, Win Virtual PC installed. 2.On Parent, run Win Virtual PC and install Win XP (I call this VXP), then install VCD10 using same license code as VCD10 installation directly on Parent. 3.In the VXP session, I can not mount a VCD that is stored in Parent, because the Parent drives (real HDDs and VCD10 virtual drives) appear as NETWORKED DRIVES to the VXP session, and thus VCD10 won't do the mount. I don't want to have two copies of my VCDs, one on the Parent, and another copy on the VXP drives. Is there a solution without me having to pay and upgrade to VCD10 server, as I am running on a single physical PC.

EC: 14

I installed VirtualCD version 10 on one computer, added virtual drives, inserted images and all was fine. Then I made an image of that computer and restored it to another computer. The virtual drives are no longer there. Even if I re-add them and restart the computer they are gone. Then I get the EC:14 error because the drives aren't there to insert the images into. We did buy more than one license. Thanks.

File naming

I purchased VCD10 and having been using it to convert protected iTunes music. It works quite nicely except for the m3u/CD txt conversion. When I convert a playlist of protected music, it does not convert all of the tag information. For example, the playlists name becomes the album name. How can I ensure that all of the tag information comes across properly into the mp3 music file?

Explorer Integration with ISO Images

Hello, I am unable to right click on ISO images in windows explorer and insert them from the popup menu into a virtual drive. Interestingly, I do not have this problem with .bin or .vc6 files. And I have gone through the settings completely, explorer integration is turned on and standard ISO images are selected under supported ISO images. I am using Windows 7 64bit and the 10.0.0.7 of virtual CD. Any help would be appreciated as this is annoying to drag the image into virtual cd manager before inserting it into a virtual drive.

Virtual CD NMS - How to insert virtual CD to a specific drive for all clients

Incorrect side-by-side configuration

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Mac via Boot Camp. I just installed Virtual CD on my computer. When I try to start the application, I get an error message that reads: "C:\Program Files\Virtual CD v10\System\vc10start.exe The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." I tried to use the sxstrace.exe tool, but I'm not tech-saavy enough to even know where to begin with it. I managed to find the event log entry, though: "Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Virtual CD v10\System\vc10start.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis." After that, I'm at a loss. Any ideas on what I should do?

Virtual CD

OK, I am having some difficulty understanding the process here. What we are trying to accomplish here is having all the children’s computer games loaded onto the Virtual cd, which is on one computer. Then, since it is part of our public domain, the idea is that the three other children’s computers would be allowed access to it. This way the games are only installed on one computer, but they can be played on all the computers. I am trying to look online on how this works, but am getting lost in the manual/instructions as to how this gets setup. How is it that the other computers gain access? Plus, and I might have not completed the steps correctly, I have eight games created on the Virtual CD, but it seems that I can only get one to play at a time, instead of all eight in the drive ready to be accessed. I have them in a folder marked “games” and thought that I would be able to insert the entire folder in the drive, but am not allowed. Right now we only have the demo version. Does that have something to do with it? Please respond to my email as soon as possible, because we can't even use it at the moment, and the trial is running out. Thanks for your help, Kelly Olson Keene Memorial Library

Running Client Setup installation silently

After creating the Client Setup with Virtual CD 9, I have a folder VCD9002ClientSetup containing these files: ClntProfile.vcd data1.cab data1.hdr data2.cab ISSetup.dll layout.bin setup.exe setup.ini setup.inx _Setup.dll If I run setup.exe from this folder, it installs Virtual CD 9 and then displays a confirmation stating: "InstallShield Wizard Complete The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed Virtual CD v9." What command line switch can I use to prevent that confirmation screen from appearing? I prefer if progress bars do appear during the installation but I only want the final screen to not appear, thereby eliminiating all user interaction. If I run setup.exe /s, it does not install.

Multi-session driver

Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. Unfortunately there will be no multi-session driver anytime soon as it is simply too time-consuming to develop for too little customers at the moment. BTW: The Virtual CD Editor supports multi-session, but I presume that this is not the feature you're looking for. I think you just need a multi-seesion driver for 3rd party burning tools in order to test burning multi-session before burning it to a real blank media...

Total Lack of Virtual CD support.

I have attempted to download a replacement copy of Virtual CD on two occasions but received NOTHING, when I tried again a few minutes ago I was informed that I had exceeded the maximum number of downloads. the only download I received was the original one I purchased several weeks ago and which was destroyed when I formatted my hard drive. I am becoming most annoyed with your very inconvenient web site and lack of support and if I do not get satisfaction in the near future request that the purchase price be refunded since I do possess the software.

No Virtual Burner Wanted

Is there ANYWAY to get rid of a Virtual Burner. Every time I delete one and create a few normal Virtual Drives it turns ONE of them into a Virtual Burner. The Virtual Burner is causing a problem with our backup software (for some reason it always sees it first and tries to write to it - and we have no control of this - it is built into a software program I use). I DO NOT EVER use the Virtual Burners, so how can I turn it off so that I just have normal virtual drives? Thanks Bob Valentino

Won't Uninstall?

I saw that this was asked before, but was NOT given a sufficient answer so I will be a little more specific with my problem. I recently installed the Virtual CD v10 demo and tried it out, but the data I was wanting to burn an ISO for was corrupted. Since I didn't need the program, I tried to uninstall it using the Add/Remove Programs program. when I clicked to uninstall, it actually went to the INSTALL wizard and tried to install the program. I also tried to manually delete the files, but it said that the data was restricted (even though I am doing this on the admin account???). How can I get this program off my computer??? Thank you for your time and help on this matter How can I uninstall this program?

Virtual CD 10.1.0.7 question

Hello I am using Virtual CD on Windows 7 x64 to debug a Cd burner application, specifically, audio with CD-Text. This version of Virtual CD does not appear to give a listing of device write speeds when sent an MMC-3 mode sense command (op-code 0x2A). I can understand why given it is an emulator but it might be good for conformity. Also there seems to be no simple way to ascertain the VCD version number? Many thanks - great product. Jerry

working with windows7

I am installing demo of virtual v10 for testing before I decide to go with this. and here the problem. I am using windows 7, I installed on user with admin right, then I created image, I inserted to virtual drive. It worked okay with that user but when I log in as normal user, a virtual drive that I inserted with image before was not with image any more, just empty virtual drive. the image actually was shown under empty virtual drive if I go to the menu. so is it just because of demo version ? I will use this for students and that is not good to setup on every student to manually insert the image to empty virtual drive. I want t setup once and will apply to every normal user. please advise, thanks

Virtual Burner not recognized in any other program.

Hello, I am having a problem with Virtual CD and the virtual burners that it made. Any help would be greatly appreciated. First things first, I am running Virtual CD 10.1.0.0. The virtual burners are listed under "My Computer" and appear to be active. But Here is my problem, when I try to use the virtual burner, it does not show up in the list of available drives. Only my physical DVD drive shows up, which does not work. So i was hoping to use Virtual CD to burn the backup files i need so that i can redo my computer. So is there settings or something that i need to put so that my virtual burners show up in burning programs? The specific software that im interested in burning from is Acer eRecovery. Thank you for any help that you can give me, Joseph

Adding Images to the Global List doesnt work

Hello, We have 2 Terminal Server running Virtual CD 10. Both connecting to a NMS on a Third Server. When logging in as an Administrator on one of the TM's when can open the "Virtual CD Control Center" Through the "Manage images", show in the Virtual CD Starter. When we Search for new images, Select the new image then in the Ribbon we click, Selected --> Global. The view switches over to the virtual images, but the new image is not added to the list, thus users wont be able to use the new image. Removing an image from the global list does work. All users connect to a Global list located on the same server as the NMS is installed. Administrators has modify rights on the VCDImg.dat and VCDTree.dat. I hope someone can help us

I had Virtual CD v9.5 on my computer. When I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 I saw a blue screen error. I reboot my computer in safe mode and then uninstalled virtual CD and my problem has been solved. On another computer I had the same problem but in other order (I installed kaspersky the Virtual CD). Can I have both products on my computer or not?
