Event record message regarding Virtual CD Security service
Error message i.e. Mismatch in drives number found in regkey
(1) and sytem(0)
The event log entry indicates that Virtual CD has found one Virtual CD-ROM drive, but there is no (virtual CD ROM) drive in the system. This may be a timing problem and can be ignored if everything else is working.
Background information:
The number of virtual CD-ROM drives is stored in the REG-DWORD value NumberofCDRoms. If you get this error message, this number does not match the number of drives found in the device manager. This value can be found under
Virtual CD v4 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\vcdmpdrv\
Virtual CD v5 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vbev5mp\. If you want to see and change this value, start regedt32. Give the logged in user full access to the key vbev5mp using "Security -> Permissions". When done please remove the full access permissions.
