Virtual CD supports all media, including video media (DVD, Blu-ray) to the extent permitted by law. Generally, Virtual CD also supports the creation of media that is copy-protected (such as CSS). Such images, however, cannot be played in a media player. When Virtual CD finds that the source CD is a copy-protected video medium, the Image Wizard indicates this fact on the Analysis page.
Video DVDs and Blu-rays are often copy-protected. When Virtual CD detects this copy-protection, it reports this to the user. Virtual CD cannot create viable images from media containing copy-protected videos (e.g., DVD Video, Blu-ray, etc.). |
Video media that is not copy-protected, however, can of course be used to create viable images.
