What You Cannot Burn

The examples above showing how to burn data and audio CDs demonstrate the two data formats that are currently supported by the virtual CD burner. Some non-standard formats, such as CD graphics and multisession CDs, are not supported by the virtual burner. This should not generally present a problem, however, since these non-standard formats make up only a negligibly small proportion of the media used in writing CDs. Normal data and audio CDs are the only kind you need to burn in most cases.

You can burn multisession CDs (e.g., using the live file system available in Windows Vista and later) with the one restriction that after the first time it is ejected, the session is finalized and the virtual CD can only be read.

If you have problems using the virtual CD burner, check whether the CD-writing software has any settings that are configured for a non-standard format. If this is the case, delete the virtual CD you just burned, change the settings in the software and start again with a new virtual blank.
