Problems with the function ''Enable the first physical drive to be used as a virtual drive''

The use of the function "Enable the first physical drive to be used as a virtual drive" can lead to problems.

  1. If a virtual CD remains in the physical drive when the PC is shut down, the drive will automatically open when Windows is started again. The Virtual CD display indicates that there is a virtual CD in the physical drive which Windows Explorer cannot access.
As a result the ejection doesn't work properly. If you close the drive again and want to eject the virtual CD, the drive only opens again.
The only solution is to insert a different virtual CD in the physical drive and then to eject it when the virtual CD is displayed in Windows Explorer.

As of Version 8.0.0.6 this problem will be avoided. Then a virtual CD in a physical drive will automatically be ejected when the computer is shut down.

  2. If a virtual CD is in the physical drive after a start from the  standby-mode, then the physical drive is no longer available.
Only after a computer restart is the drive again displayed.

This problem will also be solved with the version 8.0.0.6 by ejecting the virtual CD during the standby.
