How can I create a Centralized Client Setup with Virtual CD v4 Network?
With Virtual CD v4 for Networks, you can create a separate,
customized Setup program, store it on the network, and run
it (or let users run it) for workstation (Client)
installations.
Licensed version: When you enter the license code for the first time in a new version, you are prompted to select whether you want to install the Virtual CD 4 network version directly or create a "Client Setup", to be stored on the network for later Virtual CD workstation installations.
Demo version:
With Virtual CD 4.3 and higher it is possible to generate a client setup by choosing the network demo.
When you enter a network licensing code in a demo version that you have been using, you can either:
a) start the Setup program,
b) select Start -> Programs -> Virtual CD v4 -> Deinstallation, or
c) select Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
In the dialog box that opens, select "Modify", and then select the option for creating a centralized client setup, to be stored on the network.
TIP: If you have more than one license code, you don't have to make separate Client Setups for each number, as long as you want all your client installations to have the same components available. The license code is stored in the VCDSETUP.INI of the Client Setup, in the [VCDClient] section ("LicenseCode="). You can overwrite this with the code for your network version license.
