Windows 10 Build 1511

Virtual CD worked in the previous version of windows 10 but does not appear to like Build 1511.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but it seems to make no difference.

Windows 10 Build 1511

We do not know of any problems, yet. What kind of problems do you encounter exactly? Do you get any error messages and if so which ones?

Windows 10 Build 1511

No error messages that I can see. No Icon in the system tray and although I can start the "Virtual CD Starter" application from the "start button" when I click on anything else I may get a UAC prompt but nothing happenms after that. I can see the virtual drives in explorer but when on an iso image I do not see the burn option when right clicking.

I hope that helps.

UAC

Are you working as a guest user, a normal user or as administrator? Can you start C:\Program Files (x86)\Virtual CD v10\System\vc10cfg.exe and change the configuration?

Windows 10 Build 1511

Hmmm. It is all working OK today.

What I think happened is that I had moved the locations of the default folders to another disc. My Documents/Downloads etc. Using the location tab on the properties of those folders. I have now restored all of them (including the "Public" ones) to their default locations. That is the only thing I can think of that has materially changed since doing the upgrade. Does that give you any clues?

Default folder location

Well, these folder are used by Virtual CD. If you change them, you should adapt the folder paths within the Virtual CD settings in order to make sure that all is working like it should. But honstely I don't know if this really explains what you experienced...

Windows 10 Build 1511

If you mean the folders Virtual CDs and Virtual CD v10 along with all the subfolders in Virtual CD v10 then these were already on a completly different disc already. All on the folders option in the configuration gui.

If there are any others then (which I can't see) then those were not changed

Folder paths

No, there are no other (hidden) folders. Anyway, I'm glad that it is now working for you! :-)
