The Virtual CD support forum

working with windows7

I am installing demo of virtual v10 for testing before I decide to go with this.

and here the problem. I am using windows 7, I installed on user with admin right, then I created image, I inserted to virtual drive. It worked okay with that user but when I log in as normal user, a virtual drive that I inserted with image before was not with image any more, just empty virtual drive. the image actually was shown under empty virtual drive if I go to the menu.

so is it just because of demo version ?
I will use this for students and that is not good to setup on every student to manually insert the image to empty virtual drive. I want t setup once and will apply to every normal user.

please advise,
thanks

Dear Mr. Gunawan,

Thank you for your e-mail.
No, this is no restriction of the demo version. Please note that the information about inserted virtual CDs is stored separately for each user. r! The corresponding value is "Drive_" (e.g. Drive_E for the virtual drive E:) in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\H+H Software GmbH\Virtual CD 10.

The knowledgebase article below provides solutions for your question.

In addition the Client Setup program lets you create customized client setup programs for distributing Virtual CD in the network. The program can be opened from the Tasks and Tools tab of the Ribbon in the CD Control Center, or under Virtual CD Programs in the Quick Start utility.

Kind regards

After a reboot inserted virtual CDs are no longer in the virtual drive.

Dear Mr. Gunawan,

In addition I would like to advise you of Virtual CD NMS.
A main feature of Virtual CD NMS is to insert images automatically i.e. using profiles.

I would like to introduce you to test the demo version of Virtual CD NMS. It is free for 30 days and can be used without limitations.

Best regards
