v6 stopped working - missing drivers

XP with sp3, v6 was working for years. Now reinstalled, will not work. Device Manager says driver = H+H Virtual 6 SCSI Controller, and device is not working. Windows can not load the driver. When I look at driver details, it says obvious.sys. Is this the default when it can't find the right driver? It also says "ACPI\PNPA000\4&5D18F2DF&1"
Is it supposed to be in SYSTEM32/Drivers ? What is it supposed to be called? If it is not here, where do I find it?

v6 stopped working - missing drivers

Dear Mr Jordan,

If Virtual CD SCSI adapter listed in the device manager but marked with a yellow exclamation mark, please remove and reinstall the driver manually. The corresponding file is OBVIOUS.INF in the Windows\Inf directory.

Please have a look at the knowledgebase article below for further advice, too.

If this does not solve the problem we need more information to pinpoint the problem. Please copy

# the exact wording of the error message(s)

# the content of the file ..\Windows\hhdrvi.log

# the content of the file ..\Windows\setupapi.log

# the complete diagnostics including Installation log(CD Managament -> Help -> Diagnostics -> Check "Installation log" -> "OK" -> "Refresh")

to a new answer.

P.S.: Yes, obvious.sys is the the right driver and it is supposed to be in SYSTEM32/Drivers.

Best regards
